St Brynach of Nevern, who built the first church here, is said to have had his first hermitage on Carn Ingli where he communed with angels who supplied all his needs. It is isolated from the rest of the Preseli range by the Cwm Gwaun (Gwaun Valley). The Castle is just visible in the centre of the picture. The marshland is part of the Parrog and now houses a thriving caravan park.
