More about this scene
Justice Fleming survived into the reign of James I, when he presided over the trial of Guy Fawkes; an act of judicial importance that is commemorated in Newport's Guildhall. Within the Town Hall, which once occupied the Guildhall site, Charles I negotiated with Parliament's Commissioners after his defeat in the Civil War.
