Hi I was a pupil at Tidworth Down Secondary Modern School from 1957 to 1959, those were very happy years. We were an army family living in Perham Down married quarters. My name was then Caroline Turner, I have fond memories of former pupils and teachers from that school. I attended the Castle School, in 1966; sorry if you didn't looked like a Walker Brother, no chance. I am sure you ate my mum's school dinners, she was the cook. Good times, take care.
I lived in Tidworth in Wylie Road from 1966 to early 1968. Of course we were an army family. I remember some guys; Woody (Nigel Wood) & his elder brother Steven (also known as Woody). There was Gilly & Crow who hailed from South Tidworth. I remember the cinema & the bowling alley. We moved in 1948 and on return to visit friends my mother and I were told that someone we knew had "won the pools" and had "run off then with the barmaid from this pub". I believe he won only a couple of hundred because next year he had returned and life was as normal. Joan Battershill (was Norman)
