Good Old Days.

A Memory of Northolt.

Hello fellow northolters. I was born and raised in northolt. Southwell avenue.
St Vincent was my school about 1964-5 till about 1970-1.
I used to go to the northolt youth club down car road. Most times just hanging about.
I got banned once from the cabin shop for nicking a gob' stopper. Then on Saturday morning we used to walk to south Harrow to watch a film the cinema was across the road from Sainsbury's
In still remember the yo 'yo class at the cinema. Then they built the swimming pool
Me and my friends had our fish fingers and chip's there instead of school dinner's.
I also remember my best friend who died so young Steven Greenland was his name. I was raised with 2 sisters and 1 brother. Lesley. Pamela and Tommy. Goddard. Does anyone remember school swimming lessons were at Ealing baths before they built the northolt pool.
Also my woodwork skills were not good. I remember our French teacher she died in France so we didn't get to know her that well. And sports day throwing the javelin. What a laugh now when you look back on it.
More memories. Can anyone remember when we used to go penny for a guy outside northolt tube station. Don't see that anymore it's all Halloween now.
Does anyone remember the so called fights down the alley way across the road from St Vincent school. What a waste of time that was always over something stupid. I got a black eye once lucky me.
Some names I remember. Raymond.billy boner. Graham tofte.

Remember the odd scarp or two with the snobs from the Grammar school which was something like Elliot Green? I believe that both schools are now joined together and called the Northolt Community College or something .
