More about this scene
Ogmore lies two miles to the south-west of Bridgend. The first castle on this site was a simple ringwork with a timber palisade, built in 1116 by William de Londres to guard this important crossing point on the Ewenny and Ogmore rivers. The timber palisade was replaced by a stone curtain wall in the early 13th century; here we can see the remains of the 12th-century keep.
