I grew up in Kylemore Road, Oxton. One of 5 children. The Arno features heavily in my memories. We would walk up there following instructions from mum to 'get out from under my feet'. We'd take plastic flasks of ribena, dress up in our cowboy costumes and spend hours playing cowboys and Indians. I have many memories of the church. I went to St Saviour's School and we went to the church at Easter and Christmas. I was confirmed there in circa 1973 and my sister was married there in 1973. Happy memories!
Adams had a poultry farm in Duck Pond Lane (left hand side of Sainsburys). They lived in a big grand house at the bottom of Woodchurch Lane; it fronted onto Prenton Road West. There was a plaque on the outhouse door relating to Whartons the butchers (no relation to me). Does anyone remember School Place, Birkenhead? It was in Watson Street. Also does anyone remember the prefabs at the top of Garnet Street opposite Oak and Eldon Gardens?
