St.Francis School Peckham

A Memory of Peckham.

I was at this catholic school from 1953 to 1956 and wondered if anyone from that era had memories of the teachers or Headmaster? This was the school where I decided I was going to do nursing. Names I recall are Margaret Reardon, Kathleen Tarrant.. The teachers who inspired me were Miss Manzi, Mr.Murphy and Mr.Goddard. Would love to hear other memories from that time.

I also went to St Francis from 1953 to 1956. Some other names that I remember are John Brennan, Mickey Carrol, Paul Uden and Pauline Cochrane. I am Sean Byrne and my brother Tom and sister Rita also went to St Francis. I remember the very stern teacher Mrs. McNamara. I heard she retired to Ireland and lived well into her nineties. I also remember a Mr. Finnegan(?) and a Mrs. Bishop. Mr. Goddard was indeed the headmaster and I think the headmistress of the infant school was Mrs. Middleton. I used to walk to school from Riddell Street which was off Southampton way near the old Samuel Jones factory. I certainly recall Miss Manzi, or was it Manzies? I think her first name was Helen. I had quite the little boy crush on her. I wonder how life turned out for her.
I have scoured the internet to try and find images of the old school but no luck. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks!!
