Portloe, Beach And Village c.1955

More about this scene
The village of Portloe (meaning 'bay with pool') is one of Cornwall's best-kept secrets - a tiny, rocky fishing cove with narrow streets and the fine 17th-century Lugger Inn. The cove faces east and is therefore relatively sheltered, but in 1959 an extra sea wall was built.
