More about this scene
In the 18th century, Prestatyn was a centre for the lead-mining districts of north-east Wales. Before that, it was the site of a castle built before the time of Henry II and held by the Prince of Powys, Owain Cyfeiliog. This view shows Prestatyn's position at the foot of the majestic Clwydian Hills. Today it is known as the start or finish of the 152-mile-long Offa's Dyke National Trail.
