More about this scene
It is said that this 'venerable' church, St Saviour's, is 900 years old, and that the apostle Paul preached here. It is also said that the origin of the name Stydd is 'stood', because during a severe earth tremor this was the only building undamaged. In 1866 a large outdoor service was held at this church; it can be reached through pleasant fields beyond the village of Ribchester.
