Richmond, Aske Hall South Front 1893

More about this scene
This mansion just north of Richmond has been altered by successive owners: the Aske, Bowes and Wharton families, Sir Conyers D'Arcy, and, since 1763, the Dundas family, now ennobled as Marquesses of Zetland. The ivy was removed during a major restoration in the 1960s. The coats of arms relate to D'Arcy. The stable block to the right contains a 19th-century Italianate chapel.
