East Harling

A Memory of River Thet.

We lived at the Old Mill Housr, East Harling from 1949 until 1955.
I have happy memories of the river. We had a punt and used to paddle up to Larling , so that my parents could have a beer at the Angel.
Our neighbours up river lived at the wooden bungalow, Waterways, owned by the Tillett family.
The Doctor was Paul Jonason who was a friend of my father. The Rector was Theo Child.
The baker was Mr. Baker, and the milkman Mr. Cornell, who delivered the milk by bicycle. My mother used to walk to West Harling for fresh milk for my young brother. I have many more memories if anyone is interested.
