This was taken about ten years earlier than photograph W593015, and the Globe Hotel has yet to acquire the extension. You can also see the National Benzole filling station in the hotel car park. The first garage in Weedon was opposite the Globe Hotel in the Wheatsheaf car park. Just on the edge of the photograph (right) is George Green's smithy, demolished during road improvements in the 1970s.
