Three miles away from the Trent and 50ft above it, this reservoir was formed in 1953 by damming one of its tributaries, the River Blithe. Shown looking across the causeway towards Rugeley, Blithfield Reservoir is owned by the South Staffordshire Water Company which, as well as catering for leisure uses, supplies 75m gallons of drinking water daily to 1½ million people.

Morley's Electronics Store, Circa 1955/1960, Anyone Remember It?
Hello, I'm doing research on my family history and I believe my grandfather owned a store in Rugeley circa 1955/1960 for many years. His name was Sydney Morley, and the store was simply "Morley's" I believe. Would be interesting if anyone noted it or knew anything about it!

Waiting And Waiting. Where Was She?
There was a tremendous interest when this reservoir was officially opened by the Queen Mother. The local papers carried details of the scheduled times and events connected with this event. Not least of all, the Queen's route was specified. Needless to say crowds gathered to get a glimpse of her, particularly on both footpaths on this bridge and in the wide-open spaces before it. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
