If Only For A Day Or Two.

A Memory of Ruislip.

Looking at all the photo's of Ruislip it makes you want to go back in time. If only for a day or two. Simpler times, less people, less traffic and less gadgets. Going to Ruislip with mum. To Williams Brothers where there were no loyalty cards, just bonus tin money, which you collected to get money off goods. Watch the blacksmith, feed the ducks. Then have to walk home because you couldn't get on the bus because it was jam packed with people going to the Lido. I lived in the cottages opposite the Six Bells public house in Ducks Hill Road. Happy Days.

They were simpler times. Our mums and dads often found it easy to get jobs. The Lido was a good place. I used to watch the blacksmith in Hayes. Plenty of places to go, yes it was good. Sometimes it all seems like a dream.
I lived in Eastcote before I moved to Ruislip Manor. Used to go to the Lido often and the town was lovely too.
Happy days and nice memories
