More about this scene

Situated on the south-west side of the village, the church was heavily restored by Frederick Peck of Maidstone in 1872. The building is of about 1300 with an unbuttressed west tower of 1707, when its spire was taken down. As a church architect, Peck was certainly indifferent, but his memorial is the former Royal Agricultural Hall, London Borough of Islington, which he built in 1861. It was converted in 1983, and is now the Business Design Centre.

A Selection of Memories from Saddington

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Saddington

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I sat on this wall so often when someone helped me up with 'a leggy'. It seemed so high then! I think it's fallen down now.
I went to the little village school opposite the pub in the village. We only had one classroom for children from 5 to 11 and a yard, so we had our sports in a field on the Shearsby road.
