More about this scene

Caption for Saltburn By The Sea, The Grotto 1932: This little folly was built as a shelter where one could rest and look out onto the well-laid-out flowerbeds. It was erected in the early 1930s in concrete with limestone facing. Sad to say, it is in a state of disrepair owing to vandalism and neglect; the local history society are trying to have improvements made to the whole area.

Memories of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, the Grotto 1932

We used to call this "The house that Jack built", when we used to play here as children during the early 1960s!
