Caption for Seahouses, The Harbour C1965: As well as fishing, boat trips to the Farne Islands start from here. In AD676 St Cuthbert chose to live in seclusion on Inner Farne and remained there for eight years until his elevation to bishop. Cuthbert was away from the island for only two years before he chose to return, dying a few months later.

Boat BK103 was named the 'Xmas Star'. I was skipper for 8 years between December 1957 and November 1965. The family had two new boats afterwards called Radiant Way BK210 and Radiant Way LH147.

A favourite family story is how my father took charge of us children for the morning and brought us to Seahouses from our cottage in Beadnell.
