This is not a church to visit in search of an uplifting architectural experience, but the single east window is spectacular.

Within the church is a fine chantry chapel, unusual in a parish church.
The setting appears to be perfect: St Denys' is situated at the western end of a fine avenue of trees, close to its attractive 18th-century rectory.
Though parts of Pendle Hill reach over 1,900ft, it never quite makes it to 2,000 feet—the height when a hill becomes a mountain.
A boy from the school, Astley, claimed that Mr Rowell, a grocer, had supplied him with gunpowder for a cork gun. Rowell denied this, and Astley was flogged as a liar.
