Seaton Puzzle

A Memory of Seaton.

I am researching my family tree. My grandfather and five of his siblings were born in North London between 1854 and 1874. However, the census shows that two of his siblings, a brother and sister were born in Seaton in 1858 & 1859. I am wondering why this was so. This is the only reference to Devon in the family history, so perhaps the family moved for a couple of years in connection with work (his father was a builder/bricklayer), or due to health issues. They were not a wealthy family. Would anyone be able to hazard a guess?
It appears from historical documents that there was a weekly passenger boat service to and from London prior to the arrival of the railway in1868 (Official Seaton Town Website), so that would be the likely route the family would take.
My own memory of Seaton is of stopping in the holiday village the year before it's closure. It was in a rather run down condition by then, but the excellent entertainment staff did their best to make it a good holiday - they treated it as though we were cruise passengers, with lots of references to nautical themes. We were aware it was the end of an era...
