Chapel Street Didn't Exist Until The Late 1820s

A Memory of Settle.

Chapel street was instated when the then-time landowner who built his country house - latterly the police station, and put Chapel Street in place to link Duke (firm Duck St) with the High Road to prevent byway over what was to become his garden. Thank you, John Peart!
