More about this scene
The wide High Street of the town of Skipton on the River Aire was the scene of a weekly livestock market until well into the 20th century, but it now accommodates a general street market on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. At the end of the street is the tower of the parish church of Holy Trinity, which was originally built at the same time as Skipton's 12th-century castle.
