Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Monday 5th January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

I Was Born In Snettisham

A Memory of Snettisham.

The house on the right was when John Lambert lived, he owned and ran the shop on the right (it was a general store; grocer, hardware and building supplies at the rear).

My Dad, Jim Williams owned the butchers shop, the white building, second left; we lived behind the shop. I was born in the house, my twin sister was born in KIng's Lynn Hospital, 20 hours later.

Next door was Mr Williamson's, barber
Next door to that was Mr & Mrs Chilvers
then the chemists, Mr Kettle, across the road, on the makret place was the shop, run by Percy Doe, the baker.

I remember all this .I went to the primary school with you and your sister. My grandmother lived in one of the farmhouses on the marketplace. The doctors surgery was in the house on the corner opposite Lamberts.

I went to the primary school when Mr Chamberlain was headmaster.His daughter Martina was in my class although she was older than me.I was head girl 1961.My mothers family were the Twiddys.My great grandfather had the Red Lion in station road now a private house.My uncle Ted worked for Lamberts as a delivery driver and my mum played darts in the local dart team.Grandparents lived just off station road next to what was Robinsons the coal yard. Reading this brings back many memories. I remember being at school with the twins. My dad was Doug's Hunter . He lived in the village all his life.I spent the first 8 years of my life living in beach house close to the beach and Mrs Chamberlain used to pick me up every and drive me to school as we had no car. No other children lived nearby. Happy days
