I lived in Dudley Road opposite the shops in what was the old flats now demolished, loved playing under the railway that led from my road to White Street, my uncle at one time ran the White Lion on the corner of White Street and the Straight.
My Mum grew up in White Street during the war and was still there in the late 40s. The family were there until the early 50s. Mum was Rita Anderson, her mum and dad were Fred and Susan Anderson. Grandad worked in the gasworks.
