In this view we can see the squat tower and castellated wing designed by George Devey for Lord Dunraven and built in 1886-88. Lord Dunraven spent much of his time on his estate at Adare, Ireland, and it was while he was on a trip to see his lordship that Devey died after contracting a chill. Devey's assistant Isaac Williams took over the project, though the work continued to be based on Devey's sketches.
