More about this scene

Here we see the Victoria Hotel in Nevill Street. Around the beginning of the 20th century there was little difference in the cost of accommodation at either the Victoria, the Prince of Wales, or the Royal, though eating at the latter was slightly more expensive. The Queen's and the Palace were the most expensive with rooms from 4s a night and dinner from 5s.
