When I was a child in the 1960's, my granddad would take my brother and myself to the old Fire Station. He had just retired after 30 years in the Fire Service. His name was Albert Newns. He had been Station Officer there then ADO at Firebrigade HQ at Fulwood. We used to have a look at the engines and were allowed in them. I trotted through and round the square in 1955 as I lived at 28 Park Road just off Talbot Square. I attended a ballet school (hidden on the right hand side of shown picture) and if memory served me correctly ballet school was called Stewart School of Dance
