St Ives, General View 1890

More about this scene
St Ives is seen from Draycott Terrace, overlooking cottages in Primrose Valley below and the curving sweep of the railway station beyond, most of which is now a car park. Seine fishing boats are drawn up on Porthminster Beach (right), and an old engine house stands on Pedn Olva Point. Large houses follow the Terrace and Trelyon Avenue, and on the extreme left the vacant grassy plot is the site of the Porthminster Hotel.
