This photograph shows the Digey with a rare collection of children and cats. The name 'Digey' is thought by some to derive from the Cornish for meadow. Another derivation may be 'Dye Chy', a reference to a dyeing house, which was once located in the area; the Cornish 'chy' means house.

St, Ives born and bred, my family had lived in a couple of houses upalong before moving to 22 The Digey ( the middle door ) sometime in 1967.
