These large houses stand in an idyllic situation on the cliffs above the Channel overlooking St Margaret's Bay. Since this picture was taken, trees have grown up around the houses, giving shade and an atmosphere of seclusion. An obelisk has also been erected at the end of the road to commemorate the sacrifices of the Dover Patrol during both World Wars.
