Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

The 65-acre Meare (the correct spelling at fantasy Thorpeness) was dug out of marshland to provide a boating lake for children. The water is less than a yard deep, and all the bays and islands are named in J M Barrie style. A boathouse was built in 1911, which here provides the foreground for this unusual setting for a concert.

Thorpeness School
Does anybody still remember Thorpeness Junior Day School? It was situated in the right hand building of the Country Club. From about 1953 to 1961. My mother Dorothy Allan was the head teacher. My name is Bridget. We all sat in the same classroom, though the Nursery class was downstairs, run by a Mrs Mayor. We had assembly in the big Hall which had a stage and put on plays and dances there. House In Clouds
the house in the clouds you can still walk right to the fence now that surrounds it. such a beautiful structure. opposite there was windmill when I came to visit Suffolk in 2010 it was then up for sale! the duck pond still there or boating lake which what is called.

Happy Holidays
My Aunty had a house right on the dunes. We stayed with her every summer until I was about 16 or 17 and a lot of our time was spent on the beach. When the tide went out there was sand beyond the shingle and we used to spend hours building sand castles, and swimming. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
