The Tilehurst Triangle Before Its Desecration! - a Memory of Tilehurst.

Just out of the picture to the right, was the Post Office run by the lovely Miss Townsend. With hair buns on her ears, she was all smiles when you deposited money into your Post Office savings account, but if you asked for a withdrawal, you had a lecture on the national economy!

I remember the Post Office well but I remember also the Dentist (Mr Pearce) whose Surgery was just along the road from the Post Office. The Triangle figured a lot in my early years as a central point of the village.

  • How does it feature in your personal history?
  • What are your best memories of this place?
  • How has it changed over the years?
  • How does it feel, seeing these places again?
