Tincleton Side A Side

A Memory of Tincleton.

I have recently purchased a piece of jewellery that includes a medallion that is engraved on the back with "Tincleton, Six-A-Side, 3 - 6 - 44".
I am wondering if anyone can give me any information as to what that might mean. I live in the San Francisco, CA area.
Thank-you,
Denise

Six a side would be a soccer (football) game with 6 on each side. Played on the 3rd June 1944. A lot of US troops were in the area that year so may explain how it turned up in San Francisco. Tinckleton is a small village in Dorset uk. I went out with a girl from there many years ago. Regards Clive Wheeler.
Looked up date and it was a Saturday so would coincide. That day was 3 days before the D day offensive on French beaches.
