My name in the sixties was Marilyn Pooley, I lived at St Blazey and went to Fowey School. I have been raising my family for the last 40 years and now fancy looking back at my younger days. I was born in St Andrews Road and my first school was Tywardreath Primary and I believe a Mr Luke was the Headmaster back in 1950. I moved on to Fowey Grammar School from 1956 to 1961. I remember the barbers by the side of the church and was also best man at my childhood friend, Keith Woodcock's wedding, at the church in I think circa 1967. My family moved to Lanescot about a mile and a half from Tywardreath in 1965, we owned Lanescot Farm which we bought from Mr Frank James when he retired. I went to Tywardreath school for 2 years before going on to Fowey Comp in 1967.
