Waddington, Coronation Bridge And St Helen's Church c.1955

More about this scene
Coronation Gardens commemorate the crowning of Queen Elizabeth II. The flower beds are a riot of colour in high summer; they lie alongside the stream that runs through the main street. Trees and St Helen's church make a splendid backdrop. This view shows how the church looked after its rebuilding in 1901. Changes to the strong tower are the addition of a clock and finials to the four battlemented corners. In the tower hang 6 bells, cast in about 1760.
