Waldringfield, The River Deben c.1955

More about this scene
This is the River Deben, viewed from near the Sailing Club House looking downstream towards White House; Waldringfield is to the right and Petistree Hall, in Sutton, is over to the left. The stretch of river beyond the mud bank leads to Stanner Point, also in Sutton. In contrast to its earlier days, when the Deben was a highway of commerce, the river is now used by yachts and pleasure craft.
