Frank Griffin's Butcher's Shop On Shirburn Street?

A Memory of Watlington.

Hi, I know this is a bit of a long shot, but I'm looking for information on a Butcher's shop located on Shurburn Steet, Watlington. It was operating from as early as 1911 but I think Frank Butcher only moved there that year possibly as I have him on Church Street in 1910/11?

My Grandfather, Percy Whant lived and worked at the shop for Mt Griffin, unfortunately the census doesn't give a street number and I've not been able to locate the shop in any directories etc. If anyone out there has any local knowledge I would really appreciate any info or hints on where else I could look?

Thank you for reading :-)

The butchers shop closed soon after we moved to Watlington in 1989 - it is now part of the Fat Fox Inn (formerly the Fox and Hounds) http://thefatfoxinn.co.uk/ 13 Shirburn Street.
