More about this scene

Caption for Wellingborough, Sheep Street C1955: This view looks south, downhill past Horden's booksellers and stationers, which is undergoing repair. The scaffolding, with the workman standing casually, thumbs in waistcoat pocket, belongs to a different era as far as safety concerns go. The shopfront survives, now as an opticians but Wright and Sons next door is now a two storey flat roofed building.
