I grew up in Wembley Park in the 1950s and went to St Christopher's School down Wembley Park Drive. The parade of shops on Forty Avenue by the traffic lights at the top of Bridge Road had everything you basically needed: a bread shop, fishmongers, small Sainsbury's, post office, newsagent and ironmongers.
