Whitehaven - a Memory of Whitehaven.

I have not been to Whitehaven yet, I hope to write a memory this coming year 2017.

My great grandfather George Hudspeth was born (1863) in the area of Claytor Moor,.

My g.grandfather came to Nottingham when he was 20 years old .
His father Thomas was a railway engine driver.
So as time goes on the Railway starts to build and so did the work, and George worked as a Plate layer on the railway in Nottingham.

So it is for me now to go and see the place where he lived.

Tips & Ideas

Not sure what to write? It's easy - just think of an important place in your life and ask yourself:

  • How does it feature in your personal history?
  • What are your best memories of this place?
  • How has it changed over the years?
  • How does it feel, seeing these places again?
  • Do you remember stories about the community, its history and people?
