A Few More Fond Memories Of Whitleigh During The 1960s.

A Memory of Whitleigh.

I Was Born at Lewes gardens in 1955, that's almost 65 years ago and Whitleigh hasn't changed that much all the streets are named after towns and the only change that I have noticed are a few of the shops from the green which have different names.we used to have a fine Fish and Chip shop which again was always packed and George Horns the Butchers which sold some of the best cuts of meat in Plymouth. There were many more and iam sure everyone recalls Antons The Barbers and Hairdressers, sadly though today all those shops are long gone and are a distant memory to many of the residents that lived in Whitleigh During the 1960s.
