More about this scene
The magnificent west front of Winchester Cathedral is seen here from its former burial ground. The beautifully-decorated Winchester Bible can be seen in the Cathedral Library. This 12th-century volume was hand- written by a single scribe over three years. The sumptuous decorations were prepared by several fine artists over a much longer period of time.
