All 300,000 photographs in The Frith Collection have been scanned, but as the photos were taken over a 110 year period on a wide range of glass & film negatives, using different photographic processes, every image has to be checked and optimised, before we make a print for a customer.

My dad was Station Master from1953-57.we lived in the Statio House.It was the happiest time Loads of stories.My best friend was Julie Stockport Iwent to Wellfield Grammar School.My sister Jill and I were very sad to leave.
My father was manager of the colliery in Wingate until late 1952. I went to Wingate Primary School in 1951. Other notable pupils, not in my year, were the novelist Barry Unsworth and Geoff Caygill who I met in Hull where he was teaching science.
In 1951 to 1959 I I lived at Colliers Arms wingate with my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Merricks (she had lived there a long time) and my mother Ivy Piper also sister Christine piper. My name is Marianne. I am interested in finding the history of colliers arms. I know it was a gravel pit in the 1800’s Owned by lord baron howden married to a Russian princess (I have the deeds). Just wondering if any one remembers the station hotel pub? My grandparents ran it for a while and I'm interested in the history of it. Any thing at all would be very much appreciated :)
