This picture was taken from just outside the parish churchyard looking north towards Sandford Hill. The white building on the left is Jubilee Cottages, built in 1935. Despite modern development, much remains of the old Winscombe immortalised in Theodore Compton's 'A Mendip Valley' of 1892.
