More about this scene
This view is in Homefield Park north-east of Steyne Gardens, and looks towards the Homefield Road gate; the chimney of No 42, one of the road's 1880s houses, can be seen between the trees and Thurlow Road beyond the gate piers. This inland park offered a more sheltered stroll than along the seafront in windy or inclement weather. However, since this view was taken the pond has entirely gone, along with the rustic bridge.
