Caption for Aldershot, Union Street c1965: Parked outside Timothy Whites (left) is a 1954 Austin A40 Cambridge saloon. There were over 600 Timothy Whites chemists across the UK. In 1968, Timothy Whites was purchased by Boots, the self-service chemist. This premises is now a fashion shop. Today, Union Street is pedestrianised and home to many clothes shops and some antique shops. The occasional soldier can still be seen marching down the street.

I met Elizabeth Sewell while we were both on a Territorial Army training exercise at Aldershot. We were both serving with 39 Signal Regiment.
