More about this scene
High Sweden Bridge is a picturesque packhorse bridge over the Scandale Beck between High Pike and Snarker Pike (there is a Low Sweden Bridge further down the valley). It has no direct Scandinavian connection, other than the fact that the name comes from the Norse 'svithinn' and means 'land cleared by burning'.
