Coronavirus: We would like to thank our customers for continued support in these difficult times. We are a web based company operating in a rural area, so our staff travel to work by car individually and both in our office & factory we have enough room to maintain social distancing. As such and in consultation with our staff, we have decided to remain open for business unless or until government policy changes. We are still able to despatch most of our products, however, the ones listed below (that are made by other manufacturers) will not be available for a while.

Products temporarily unavailable: Folded Maps, Tableware (Coasters & Placemats), Jigsaws, Wallpaper.

Amersham And Chesham Bois Writers And Artists - a Memory of Amersham.

Hi

I have lived in Amersham and Chesham Bois for the past 30 years and love the rich history of these places. I collect old postcards of this area and the Missendens, and I also research interesting people who have lived and worked here. I am particularly keen to hear memories of Chesham Bois in the first half of the 20th century, the Colenso family who lived in Elangeni House (on the site where the school now stands) - and of the artists and writers who lived here - William Monk, Elias Canetti, Carl Fallas, Marie Louise Von Motesiczky and many more. Best wishes. Nick

Tips & Ideas

Not sure what to write? It's easy - just think of an important place in your life and ask yourself:

  • How does it feature in your personal history?
  • What are your best memories of this place?
  • How has it changed over the years?
  • How does it feel, seeing these places again?
  • Do you remember stories about the community, its history and people?
