Tar Baby's 1950s

A Memory of Barking.

I lived in the huts in Thames road in the 50 s does any one remember the 3 tar baby's their names Tony Emery, Linda Emery and Frank Spall they got stuck in a tar pit opposite the huts . Also remember going on school bus to Westbury school and infants.

I was born in1946 we lived with my grand parents, my mothers brother and his wife. mum and dad my younger brother and i shared the back bedroom, my brother slept in the bottom draw of a chest of draws me in larger Carrie cot, my sister was born 1950 not sure if that was there or when we moved to the huts in Thames rd. I cant remember the tar babies but i do remember the coronation and the street party.
In 1954 we moved to Charlton crescent on Thames view estate. one of the first families there .
I started school and went Westbury infant a junior school. From there I went to Eastbury senior school. I hatted school but out side of it i had the time of my life went and did what we liked as long as we kept out of trouble Cuts, Thompsons, Godfreys, Kinnaird's all close to us,
I can remember a lot about barking in the 50s and early 60s but no one that I know remembers
