This picture gives an impression of a disused military establishment surplus to World War II requirements. Nothing could be further from the truth. Now over a century old, the camp is set in about 15 acres of woodland on the edge of Barnston village; as a registered charity its aim is to provide accommodation and outdoor activities for individuals and organised groups. There are sleeping facilities for 120 people, a cafe, a play area for the very young and access to some of the finest countryside the north west has to offer.

Howard Family Barnston

Hi I am currently doing my family tree. My grandad was born in Dale cottage in Barnston Dip and would like to know if there are any old photos from 1900. His name was Charlie Howard and his mother and fathers names were Thomas Howard and Hannah Herbert !

Darts And A Pint

The Fox and Hounds was a great place to meet friends and have a game of darts and a pint or two. I can remember a warm fire on a winters night and a friendly publican. The place had a typical English country pub feel and my mates and I were always made welcome. I worked on the place as a painter in the 60`s, and was always given a free pint with lunch. Pete

Searching For Relations Dulcie (Waring) Married Gerald Lewis

I am serching for my relations, Dulice Waring, married Gerald Lewis, I know they had a son called Gerald, I think he was an only child. Before Dulcie and Gerald moved to this area they lived in Eastham, Merseyside.
